Facilities Department Gets the Job Done for First Day of School
Our Facilities Department began preparing our buildings and grounds for the first day of this school year on the last day of school in June. The hard work and pride our custodial and maintenance staff takes in their work is evident when you walk in our schools.
Mt. Lebanon School Zone Safety Initiative Begins Monday
A Message From the Mt. Lebanon Police Department: Come Monday morning, school zones in Mt. Lebanon will be active as students head back to class. Mt. Lebanon Police will also be out in force in their annual “Back-to-School” School Zone safety initiative. The police department will have extra officers working at designated school zones before and after school for the first few weeks, focusing on poor and unsafe driving behavior.
Save the Date: Oct. 11 High School Dedication and Open House
On October 11 at 2:00 p.m. the Mt. Lebanon School District will hold a dedication ceremony and open house for the community to celebrate the completion of the new high school. All are welcomed to attend the ceremony that will take place outside the new main entrance (C-20) on Horsman Drive with a reception in Center Court to follow.
MLPD Looking for Substitute School Crossing Guards
The Mt. Lebanon Police Department is accepting applications for Substitute School Crossing Guards with multiple positions available. Uniform and paid training provided with a salary of $13.24 per hour, plus $5.25 a day for a travel allowance.
High School Alumni Honored with Great Alumni Award
Each year, the Mt. Lebanon High School Student Council selects outstanding alumni to be recognized with the Great Alumni Award. Congratulations to this year's awardees: the Reverend Father John Chakos '59, Jack Daly '84, Gregg Gnipp '86, Lawrence Lebowitz '80, and Josephine Posti '86.
Military Appreciation Night at First Home Football Game on Sept. 18
Mt. Lebanon Athletics will honor current and former military members at the second annual Military Appreciation Night on September 18 at 7:30 p.m. during the first home football game against Baldwin High School.
Welcome Back, Mark Cuban!
Mark Cuban, star of the TV series "Shark Tank" and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, made a surprise visit to the high school today. Cuban, a 1976 Lebo grad and Great Alumni recipient, stopped by the high school to take a tour of his alma mater.
US News and World Report Ranks High School Among Best in State
Mt. Lebanon High School once again was ranked among the top schools in the state in the recent US News and World Report “Best High School Rankings 2015.”

Congratulations to High School Social Studies teacher Mr. Peter DiNardo, recently honored as a recipient of the 2015 Yale Educator Award.
School Board Approves New High School Unit Principal
At the July 20, 2015 School Board meeting, the Mt. Lebanon School Board unanimously approved the appointment of Natasha K. Dirda as the new unit principal for Mt. Lebanon High School.
